The Lady Raiders took their winning streak to 6 games tonight as they bested the Alexandria Lady Tigers 65-36. The Raiders put this game away early as they blitzed the Tigers right from the start. SHS scored 18 points in under 4 minutes to open a n 18-2 lead before finishing out the quarter at 23-2. The Raiders played unselfish basketball as 8 players scored in the first half. Erikka Hill had 10 first half points and fellow soph Kat Perry had 9 but several Raiders were credited with assists as they kept the ball moving. The Raider Defense also led to several fast break opportunities in half number 1.
Three Raiders finished in double figures tonight with Hill (17) and Perry (16) leading the way. Another sophomore, Jenna Stewart, was the third Raider in double digits with 12. With the win, the Raiders improve to 11-5 on the season heading into next week’s county tournament at Blue River. The Raiders will play Knightstown on Friday night.
