The Raiders finally got their season underway as they travelled to Heritage Christian on Tuesday to play the Eagles. The Raiders started quickly, racing out to an 18-10 lead. Unfortunately, the offense was only able to produce 15 points over the next 2 quarters and the Eagles were able to pull away. HC led 28-24 at the half and stretched the lead to 44-33 heading to the 4th.

The Raiders were able to make a run at the lead late, cutting the lead to 6 on a Kat Perry three with 24.7 seconds left in the game but could get no closer. The Raiders were led by their talented seniors Erikka Hill and Perry. Hill tossed in 22 to go with a several rebounds and Perry finished with 19.

The game did have one other highlight. With 5:20 to play in the 3rd quarter, Perry surpassed the career scoring total set by Chelsea (Miller) Kilian in 2005. The points came on a “patented” Perry steal and bucket. Congrats to Kat!!

The Raiders take to the court again on Saturday night at home vs Lincoln. Both Perry and Hill will be honored for career achievements set last year and tonight. Sales are limited to on-line tickets only with a maximum of 400 fans in attendance. For tickets go to Shenandoahathletics.com
