After a heartbreaking loss in overtime last season to Tri, the Lady Raiders swept thru both opponents to secure a Henry County Championship. The ladies defeated Blue River Valley on Saturday night by a score of 38-24. The win avenged an earlier loss to the Vikings by 3 points in November.
The game featured unusually cold shooting on the part of both teams throughout the first half as the 2 teams combined for just 25 points. Fortunately, the Raiders were able to get some shots to fall in the second half as they built their lead to 15 points entering the 4th quarter. The Raiders kept the Vikings at bay and used an effective delay game to finish things off.
Once again, Kat Perry and Erikka Hill were able to lead the offense. Perry knocked in 18 while Hill finished with 10. For their efforts, the 2 sophomores were named to the All County Team. Several Raiders had a hand in playing great defense as BRV was only able to convert 9 field goals for the game with no 3 pointers.
