Boys Varsity Golf · Boys Varsity Golf finishes 6th at Sectional.

  Place Points
Shenandoah High School 6th 358

New Castle (295), led by Derek Tabor’s 69, won the Sectional by 21 strokes. Third and Fourth place were decided by 1 stroke (Greenfield-Central edges Mt. Vernon). The Raiders shot a 358, good enough for 6th place. Not the finish we were practicing for a month ago, but we hit some good shots throughout the day and kept our heads up. Daniel Chapman (Senior) started out with a strong front nine (39) and 3 birdies, but had a very uncharacteristic 8 on hole #12. Daniel finished with an 84. Jordan Myers shot an 87, and learned quite a few things about the course and himself for his first Sectional. Jordan, Andrew Bennett (96), and Tommy Deley (91) will be back next year, and will definitely have lower scores. Ty Sanders finished his SHS career by shooting par on the first 3 holes on the back nine. Good Luck to those schools and individuals competing in Thursdays Regional.
