The Raider JV opened their season with a win on the road at Wes Del. The Raiders got on the board first on a near 50 yard TD run by quarterback Carson Brookbank. Gabe Lowder added the 2 point conversion and SHS led 8-0. Wes Del then answered on the first play of the 2nd quarter to narrow the gap to 8-6.

Lowder answered for the Raiders. The freshman took the handoff on the counter and raced 60 yards to the end zone on the very next play from scrimmage .Brookbank converted the 2 point PAT and the Raiders led 16-6. The Warriors rallied to score just before the half on a short pass to cut the lead to 16-12.

The Raiders fell behind briefly in the third as the Warriors scored on the quarter’s first play and took an 18-16 lead. Ironically, it would be Wes Del’s only play of the quarter! The Raiders drove 50 yards on 7 plays before Lowder got his 2nd TD on a 2 yard run. Brookbank again added the 2 to get the lead to 24-18.

The Raider kickoff was fumbled and recovered by SHS. After 5 plays, Lowder scored again from 25 yards out to push the lead to 30-18. Lightning then struck again as the kickoff was fumbled and recovered by the Raiders.The Raiders then ran out the clock in the third quarter before Jobe Robinson capped the scoring with a 2 yard TD run. Gavin Wilson added the 2 pointer. WD closed out the scoring with their 4th TD pass/catch of the night.

SHS will play Heritage Christian at home one week from Tuesday.
