One of the most prestigious awards given annually to a graduating male and female student athlete at Shenandoah is the George and Martha Seward Award. The Seward’s were longtime patrons of Shenandoah Athletics and this award rewards those students that have done their best to promote the entire athletic program during their 4 years at SHS. This year’s winners were Rylee Johnson and Colton Monday.
Johnson not only participated in volleyball, basketball, softball, track and tennis, she was instrumental in starting a club soccer program last fall with the hope that it will blossom into a full-time program for the Raiders in the near future.
Monday is the only senior male athlete at Shenandoah to earn an athletic honor ring for the Raiders this year. He lettered all 4 seasons in football, basketball and Track and Field. Colton was a key contributor to the successes of all these programs.
