Multiple Teams · Girls Basketball Set to Open Season Tonight at Elwood

There will be plenty of new faces in the Shenandoah Girls Basketball program this season as they are traveling to Elwood tonight for game #1. Gone are 4 seniors that played the majority of minutes for SHS the last several seasons as well as Coach Grant Fulton. The new coach is former SHS athlete Dameon Wyatt and he welcomes back just one very experienced varsity player in senior Hillery Shepherd. Also back with some varsity experience are juniors Hannah Cole, Faith Muterspaugh, and Skylar Counceller. Joining them from last season’s junior varsity squad are Sydney Campbell and Madi Robinson. Senior Sami DeLey is playing basketball for the first time since junior high school and is a welcome addition.

Four freshmen will also be on the varsity roster this season at the start. They are Kathryn Perry, Rachel Soden, Jenna Stewart, and Erikka Hill. Three of these freshmen made their marks this fall by lettering in golf (Perry and Soden) and volleyball (Hill). Stewart was part of the JV volleyball team. The JV tips off at 6 PM.

The Raiders will go straight from Elwood into a 2 game tournament in Morristown where they will open play against the hosts at 10 am on Saturday. Good luck to the ladies and their coaches!
