The Shenandoah Raiders varsity boys basketball team earned a convincing 58-39 victory over the Eastern Hancock Royals on Saturday, January 21. The Raiders improved to 11-4 on the season.

Braydin Myers started off the scoring for the Raiders with the opening five points of the game as Shenandoah took an early 5-0 lead. A Chase Kinsey three pointer as time expired gave the Raiders 9-2 lead after the first quarter.

After Scoring from Wayde Stiers and Gavin Griggs the Raiders increased their lead to 16-5 with 4:30 remaining in the first half. The Royals were able to close the gap at 17-10 with Shenandoah finishing the half on a 8-3 run capped off by a Stiers field goal at the buzzer. The Raiders led 25-13 at halftime. Stiers led the team with 10 points in the second including a pair of three pointers.

Shenandoah started the second half on a 14-6 run and led 39-19 with 1:26 left in the third. The Raiders sank four shots from three point range in that stretch from Kinsey, Myers and Joe Huff. After three quarters, Shenandoah led 42-24.

After seven points from the Raiders in the opening moments of the fourth including five from Griggs, Shenandoah built a lead of 49-29. Shenandoah controlled the remainder of the game and won by a final of 58-39.

The Raiders had a balanced offense with four players in double figures. Kinsey and Griggs scored 14 while Myers poured in 13 and Stiers contributed 11. Others to score included Huff (3), Jordan Starks (2) and Dylan Frost (1).
