Shenandoah High School
Morgaen McWilliams started off the scoring with a “3” from the top of the key, while Alex Canaday finished the first half scoring with a “3”. The Lady Raiders showed great patience tonight on offense, by working the ball around and making sure we had good touches before an open shot. The first half netted 13 boards and 8 steals as a team. A slow start to the second half allowed the bench players some quality minutes. Skylar Counceller had a nice steal and a bucket, as the Raiders maintained their lead. Elexus Thomas had a nice defensive tie-up in the fourth quarter, a steal less than a minute later, and a rebound. Rachel Coers had a “3” of her own. New comer, Tessia Ruch, had a nice defensive steal. Fiath Muterspaugh had a nice drive to the bucket, a steal, and another steal that led to a left-handed finishing move. As a team, the Raiders had 7 ladies in the scoring column, while everyone stayed out of foul trouble. Alex Canaday (14), Candy Chandler (13), and Morgaen McWilliams (7) were the leading scorers, but we were more impressed with the defense tonight.
