Delta High School
The Raiders dropped to 1 and 1 on the season losing to Delta 30-20 at Delta. Both teams endured a long rain delay and neither scored the first quarter. The Raiders got on the board first on a 20 yard Brennen Dowden to Joe Huff screen pass in the 2nd quarter. Delta answered with 8 of their own to send the game tied 8-8 at the half.
The Raiders opened the 2nd half scoring with a short but effort-filled run by senior Patrick Resler to lead 14-8. Delta then scored twice to take 24-14 lead. The Raiders answered with an 80 yard drive that took a little over a minute. The drive was highlighted by a key Dowden to Jordan Starks 4th down completion. Starks caught another pass on the drive as did senior Wayde Stiers. Lane Wolcott got the TD on a well executed counter play. Delta added a late TD to end the scoring.
The Raiders will be home for the next three weeks. They will play Centerville, Lapel, and Lewis Cass in that order.
